June Reports Show a Steady Rise in Home Sales
According to the National Association of Realtors,® the real estate market continues to rebound across the country as consumer confidence continues to grow. The national median price for existing homes was up another 15.4% over this time last year. According to their Web site, “This marks six straight months of double-digit increases and is the strongest price gain since October 2005, which jumped a record 16.6 percent from a year earlier. The last time there were 15 consecutive months of year-over-year price increases was from March 2005 to May 2006.”
NAR also reports that “Existing-home sales are at the highest level since November 2009. ... Sales have stayed above year-ago levels for 23 months, while the national median price shows 15 consecutive months of year-over-year increases.”
As of June reports, Williamson County real estate numbers look to be better than the national average! According to the Williamson County Association of Realtors,® “The number of single-family residential closings increased by 34.6% in June 2013 compared to June 2012. The median sales price for a single-family home was $361,000 in June of 2012 with an increase to $386,000 in June of 2013. Williamson County has not seen this number of sold homes in a single month since June 2006.”
Along with that great news, there has also been a decrease of days on the market for existing homes as people are rushing to buy homes with the recent news of rising interest rates.
Williamson County also seems to be on track with the rest of the nation when it comes to home inventory. With a rise in home sales, inventory is low nationally. Home builders are scrambling to make up this lack of inventory, but right now is a great time to list your home while people are looking to buy homes in Williamson County!
